RigTech was established by Joy Varghese, a former Crew Chief and Data Specialist (E-Line Logging) at Schlumberger and Geo Services. The institute was founded with the vision of delivering high-quality training for careers in Exploration & Production (E&P) and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) within the oil and gas industry.
In 2015, RigTech achieved significant recognition and expansion milestones, becoming certified under ISO 9001:2015 by DNV, gaining Associate Membership with IADC, and receiving accreditation from IOSH to conduct the “Managing Safely” program. In the same year, the institute further strengthened its practical training approach by establishing India’s first Drilling Training School in Sathyamangalam, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, providing hands-on, industry-oriented learning experiences.
